News:

The CERN LCGCVS service was closed down in the first half of 2011. Most users have converted their repositories to SVN and the remaining ones have been moved as a temporary measure to the old CVS service on AFS.
April 2011

CERN SVN service goes from being a pilot project to become a Production Service !!. Creation of new CVS repositories is discontinued and users are encouraged to request creation of SVN repositories instead. All librarians are asked to migrate their CVS repositories to SVN before the end of 2009. As soon as this migration campaign has finished, the central CVS service will be frozen, allowing only read-only access to old CVS repositories. Librarians encountering problems with their CVS project migration should contact SVN Support team as soon as possible.

Stoppage of kserver (Kerberos IV) access method scheduled for 30th january 2009. SSH and Kerberos V (gserver) are the supported access methods. A method to convert your CVS sandox is decribed at Moving out of kserver access method

Upgrade of ViewCVS -> Now using ViewVC 1.0.4
You have probably realised that ViewCVS has been upgraded in the Central CVS service. This new version of ViewCVS has a new name (ViewVC).
Central CVS Service runs now ViewVC version 1.0.4. This upgraded had to be performed immediately since this new version fixes some security holes that were present in ViewCVS 0.9.2.
